Oregon Cheer Coaches Conference - First Time!

But it won't be my last! I had a fantastic time this weekend in Bend, Oregon, for the OCCA Cheer Coaches Conference, "Coach-Ella."

Love the theme!
Love the theme!

What an amazing group of women (and a few dudes) to share my time with. And I had never been to Bend before...it is beautiful!

I have always loved going to conferences. I feel reinvigorated and I love learning new things. I had a friend who had coached for many years and didn't see the use of coaches conferences since really she could teach most of the classes. I guess the same could be said for me after 26 years of coaching, but I love getting different perspectives and ideas. At this conference I learned a whole new method of working on stunt progression and I'm super excited to implement it! You just never know where you'll find a new idea. There were so many good classes, good ideas, and great coaches to visit with. I can't wait to get back to my team and get to work!

The Eastside Dream Elite cheerleading program is associated with Renton Parks, Kirkland Parks, and Issaquah Parks. Try-outs are not required for any EDE teams, and all teams are non-competitive except for Red Squad.  We work hard to keep costs low for EDE participants.  Scholarships for class fees are available from the respective organizations for residents who qualify.  Uniform fees are not covered by those scholarships, however we make every effort to help those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate.
