Cheer Music - The New Rules

As if we cheer coaches didn't have enough on our plate, now we have to deal with all sorts of new music regulations. Now don't get me wrong, I have utmost respect for musicians and I ABSOLUTELY think they should get paid for their creative product. But I also think that if I purchase your music, then I should be able to edit it into an appropriate length and mix for my team's routines. Now we have all sorts of new hoops to jump through with music, so please make sure you educate yourself on this.

UCA has put together the first document that starts the explanation, but certainly doesn't answer all the questions. But it's a place to start for camp, and I'm sure more information will be sent out soon.

The Eastside Dream Elite cheerleading program is associated with Renton Parks, Kirkland Parks, and Issaquah Parks. Try-outs are not required for any EDE teams, and all teams are non-competitive except for Red Squad.  We work hard to keep costs low for EDE participants.  Scholarships for class fees are available from the respective organizations for residents who qualify.  Uniform fees are not covered by those scholarships, however we make every effort to help those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to participate.
